Basic Requirements for Indian Students
NEET Qualification
You must qualify the NEET-UG exam in the year of admission or it should be valid (valid for 3 years for abroad). 50th percentile for General/EWS, 40th percentile for OBC/SC/ST.
Academic Criteria (10+2)
Minimum 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) for General category. 40% for reserved categories. English must be a compulsory subject.
Age Limit
Must be at least 17 years old on or before 31st December of the admission year. There is currently no upper age limit for NEET.
NMC Guidelines (2021 Gazette)
To practice in India after your degree, the foreign medical university must follow these rules:
- Course duration must be a minimum of 54 months (4.5 years).
- Must include an internship of minimum 12 months in the same institution.
- Medium of instruction must be English.
- Mandatory subjects matching the Indian MBBS curriculum.
- Registration with the respective professional regulatory body of that country.
